HEALTHY PARENTS CHILDCARE

Overview

The Healthy Parents Childcare Program offers financial assistance to income-restricted families to facilitate a healthier lifestyle. The childcare assistance provides parent(s)/legal guardians the ability to accomplish health-related activities (gym, therapy, counseling, doctor appointment, etc.) without the stress of paying for safe and affordable childcare.

Impact on Families

On average, a family spends approximately 50% of their income on childcare. A family unable to afford childcare will not be able to conduct the required activities to improve their health. With assistance, the parent (s) will be able to afford childcare without fear of sacrificing the needs of the family.

Eligibility
  • Gross income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty levels for families
  • Parents or Legal Guardians who has custody of a child who has been court-ordered dependent by a Florida court and placed in their home by the Department of Children and Families Child Welfare/Community Based Care (CW/CBC) contracted provider
Income Verification

All applicants will be required to provide a Government Issued ID along with proof of income such as:

    • W-2 withholding statements or Unemployment check stubs for the past 90 days
    • Paycheck stubs for the past 90 days for all persons employed in the home
    • Proof of all other income received in the past 90 days 
    • Proof of government assistance
    • Proof of Bankruptcy settlement (if applicable)
How To Apply
  1. Contact the nonprofit with your request via phone (407.783.4976) or by sending an email, by submitting the application form
  2. The nonprofit will evaluate each request on a case by case basis to approve eligibility
  3. All applicants MUST meet with a representative from the nonprofit to provide income verification documentation
What Happens Next
  • Approved parents/ legal guardians will receive childcare assistance for two hours at a time (drop-off, health activity, and pick up) for up to $50 per hour (max $100 per day for daily childcare rates)
  • Official documentation such as a log or receipt noting the date and time of attending a health-related activity or appointment (i.e. gym session, therapy session, doctor appointment) must be submitted
  • The nonprofit will pay the childcare facility directly
